Freezing your fruit

25 Jun

Can’t eat all that fruit you purchased at the market?  Do you ever wish you had some fruit on hand when you want a smoothie?  Did you know frozen fruit is a healthy snack for you and the kids?  Give your water some flavor with a slice of frozen lemon or lime!

Freeze berries, banana’s, pineapple, oranges and all the other fruits out there.  Wash and dry your fruit. Cut or slice into desired size.  Place parchment paper on a cookie sheet and single layer your fruit on the cookie sheet.  Freeze until hard, than transfer to a container.

Lemons and limes, wash, dry, and slice.  Place parchment paper on a cookie sheet and single layer the slices on the cookie sheet.  Freeze until hard and transfer to a container. Use frozen lemon and limes to flavor your water instead of artificial flavorings.

They come in handy on a really hot day. Add to water, ice tea, or coke!

I like to freeze the big, red, seedless grapes just slightly so that the grape juice is mushy. Very tasty.

I have two limes that are going to go bad if I don’t find a use for them soon. After reading your post, I’m going to freeze them. You blogged in the nick of time! Thank you!

Or you can juice and/or slice them and put into a pitcher of water for refreshing low cal flavored water.
