Local Produce – From My Patio!

9 Sep

Not only is my thumb getting greenerI am  cutting back on my carbon footprint, plus  saving money and gas!  Just a few steps outside my sliding glass door is my little organic garden where I can pick some  local produce!  There are tomatoes, garlic, basil, oregano, rosemary, carrots, parsley, hot peppers and green peppers. Planted within the garden is rosemary to ward off many harmful insects and flowers to attract pollinators such as bees!  Also there is a small area for composting which attracts ton’s of worms! Coffee grounds added to the garden helps to ward off slugs.  Did I mention all these items are easy to grow?   So, if you have a small  out-door space like me, you too, can grow a little patio garden with just a little patience and some time!

Those all look great! It’s so nice to run out the back door and get your supper, isn’t it?

It sure is! So many tomatoes will be making some salsa to freeze for the later!
