Grow Some Italian Basil

2 Oct

Basil is one herb that should be in every garden and it is so easy to grow!  I keep mine in a pot and move it around from outside to inside.  Always available when I want to use some in my cooking. Keep it well watered and out of direct sun.  Clip the leaves as needed for your Italian Meals or any meal that needs some flavor.

Local Produce – From My Patio!

9 Sep

Not only is my thumb getting greenerI am  cutting back on my carbon footprint, plus  saving money and gas!  Just a few steps outside my sliding glass door is my little organic garden where I can pick some  local produce!  There are tomatoes, garlic, basil, oregano, rosemary, carrots, parsley, hot peppers and green peppers. Planted within the garden is rosemary to ward off many harmful insects and flowers to attract pollinators such as bees!  Also there is a small area for composting which attracts ton’s of worms! Coffee grounds added to the garden helps to ward off slugs.  Did I mention all these items are easy to grow?   So, if you have a small  out-door space like me, you too, can grow a little patio garden with just a little patience and some time!
